Why Colorado?
Though my childhood was spent in Iowa, I grew up in Colorado and consider it my home.
All of our malamutes live a great "dogs" life. Aspen, Tonka and Lexi are continuing
to have a great life in Colorado. I will be taking them up to the mountains often.

Artic Wonder started with a family's love for large dogs. We have always had large breed dogs. In December
2003, we decided to add a malamute to our family that already included a black lab and a pit/lab mix. Chloe was our first
malamute and shortly after that, we added Riley. Because of these two, we are now dedicated to the Alaskan Malamute breed.
We are not a breeding business, it is our family. Since 2003, our family has grown not just in size but has grown up
too. When we first started ( Michigan ), the kids lived at home and we all cared for the dogs as a team. Today, Katie
is on her own and manages the malamutes that she has. I have moved from Michigan to Colorado and I have changed
my name to Alaskan Malamutes of the Rockies.

What about the dogs?
Aspen, Tonka and Lexi are now in Colorado. Traveling between Colorado and
Michigan is something we are very used to doing. Most of the dogs are also used to traveling.
Alaskan Malamutes of the Rockies is about
loving our dogs and
enjoying life
